Completed: UK Safety Day 2026

StructureCare Celebrates Second UK Safety Day, Recognising Outstanding Safety Practices

StructureCare brought colleagues and industry partners together for its second UK Safety Day, combining practical learning, wellbeing activities and employee recognition as part of Tremco CPG's global Lead with Safety initiative.

Held on 25 September 2026 at Tremco CPG's Distribution Centre in Leicester, the event built on the success of last year's inaugural Safety Day, reinforcing StructureCare's commitment to creating a workplace where safety, health and wellbeing remain shared priorities.

The day provided an opportunity for colleagues to step away from their daily responsibilities, take part in interactive workshops and explore how positive safety practices can make a difference both on-site and beyond.

Bringing Safety to Life

The event began with business updates before colleagues participated in a programme of supplier-led workshops, each designed to address different aspects of workplace safety and personal wellbeing.

The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity delivered an important session highlighting the emotional, physical and financial support available to construction workers and their families. The presentation reinforced the importance of looking beyond physical safety and ensuring employees know where to turn when they need support.

VI Industrial Supplies contributed to the day's practical learning, sharing its expertise with colleagues, while The Hire Place UK brought an interactive element to the programme with a motorised pallet-truck challenge. This hands-on activity encouraged colleagues to put their skills into practice in an engaging environment.

Our HR team also delivered an informative session, providing colleagues with an overview of the employee systems, benefits and reward schemes available to them, ensuring everyone understands how to access and make the most of the support and opportunities on offer.

Adding something a little different, Laughing John introduced colleagues to laughter yoga, demonstrating how laughter and group participation can offer an opportunity to relax, connect and take time out from everyday pressures.

Together, the activities provided an opportunity to approach safety from different perspectives, combining practical knowledge with conversations about personal wellbeing and the importance of supporting one another.

Recognising Our Safety Champions

A highlight of the day was the presentation of StructureCare's employee recognition awards, celebrating individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to workplace safety.

Congratulations to Josh Lewkowicz and Phil Bowen, who received recognition certificates for their contributions to positive safety practices.

Recognising the efforts of our colleagues is an important part of encouraging a proactive safety culture. By celebrating individuals who demonstrate positive behaviours, we reinforce the message that everyone has a role to play in looking after themselves and those around them.

A Shared Commitment to Safety

Building a positive safety culture requires more than training and procedures. It relies on open communication, continuous learning and a shared responsibility to identify risks and support colleagues.

Our second UK Safety Day demonstrated how bringing people together in a different environment can encourage new conversations, strengthen relationships and provide practical knowledge that colleagues can take back into their everyday roles.

Thank You to Our Partners and Colleagues

Robert Ellis, HSE Manager,
“We would like to extend a special thank you to Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, The Hire Place UK, our HR team, Laughing John and VI Industrial Supplies for generously contributing their time, expertise and resources to support this year's event…

We would also like to thank everyone involved in organising the day, Martin Haggart and the team at Leicester's Distribution Centre and all our colleagues for their participation and continued commitment to improving workplace safety”.

While Safety Day is an opportunity to bring everyone together, its real value lies in putting the lessons learned into practice long after the event has finished.

Lead it. Live it. Own it.
